In the third quarter of 2024, the carpooling and ridesharing sector on Android in Central America showcased interesting trends across the top five apps. According to data from Sensor Tower, these applications experienced varying patterns in downloads and active user engagement.

DiDi Rider: Affordable rides saw a notable rise in weekly downloads, peaking at approximately 178K in early September. Active users fluctuated throughout the quarter, starting at around 4.6M and ending the quarter with roughly 4.9M.

Uber - Request a ride maintained strong download numbers, with weekly figures reaching up to 161K in early September. The app's active user base remained robust, beginning at about 5.7M and peaking at over 6M by mid-September before slightly decreasing by the end of the quarter.

inDrive. Save on city rides experienced a steady increase in downloads, reaching a high of about 131K in early September. Weekly active users varied, starting at 2.6M and closing the quarter with approximately 2.4M.

DiDi Driver: Drive & Earn Cash downloads showed a gradual upward trend, peaking at about 80K in mid-August. The active user count increased from 372K to over 414K by the end of September.

Uber - Driver: Drive & Deliver saw a decline in weekly downloads, dropping from 82K in early July to around 30K by the end of September. However, the app maintained a stable active user base, averaging between 600K and 640K throughout the quarter.
